When you’re extending and renovating your home, there are a few questions you may have.

This will depend on whether you need Town Planning and a Building Permit for your project. This process will usually take from 4 weeks to 12 weeks, in order to design and draft, document, get reports and certifications ready, and gain council approval. Some projects will not need council approval. The construction is scheduled after any approvals where required, and may thereof take from one week to several months depending on the type of project.

We will give you an idea of timing when we look at your project, and will aim to keep you updated throughout the entire process.

No not usually. Most of our clients remain at their homes during construction; very few move out. This also depends on the particular circumstances.

You may want to construct your home extension in traditional cavity brick construction. Brick extensions are generally more expensive than timber framed, weatherboard extensions.

Timber framed extensions are generally:

  • Faster construction.
  • Strong and durable.
  • Quiet.
  • 6-star energy rated and insulated.
  • H2 and H3 treated against white ant attack.
  • Better for site access.
